today i've seen something very strange and beautifull. i've heard about it before but still it is one of the wieredest things i've seen for a long time.
today i climbed up the hill behind my house and had a little walk around the quarter. the sun was shining and the sweet smell of blossoming almondtrees was in the air. (oh how poetic). i was looking for some boulderplace that is said to be behind parc güel which i finally gave up to find. too many paths and no sign of climbing-facilities.
on my way back i sat down on the top of the mountain enjoying the sun and the view over barcelona when they suddenly aproached.
a swarm of doves was sailing through the sky circeling over my had and scanning the area. this wouldn't have been anything remarkable without the fact that they where all wildly coloured. the birds had been painted with the coloures of the rainbow to be trained. they were set up to find their partner that was hidden somewhere on the ground. some doves stay together in pairs for livetime. to be able to tell them apart and distinguish the winner-dove they get painted.
sometimes the owners of the birds get carried away with desingning their doves which ends up with football-club-coloured patterns as only one example.
