design a flag
flags, flags, flags. they are supposed to flatter proudly in the wind, sometimes they get burned, dr. saltberg had a problem because he ate one on "freedom day" and if you needed a german one at the moment, you are luck-stricken. we, i mean, germany (which is said to be the same thing), preparing for the world cup, are provided with an exquisitely cheap monster supply by shops named pfennigfuchser and the like.
conclusion: this is lächerlich, the idea and symbolisms of flags anyway. and the stubburn seriousness of people about it all the most.
therefore the following questions about flags aroused recently:
-how do people manage instantly to have the right flag of the right country at hand and therefore always be prepared for a spontaneous flag-burn-session on the street in front of a reporters camera?
-why is a flag so important? i mean, would poeple buy toilet-paper with flag-design? not even in skandinavia, where people are said to be are specially fond of flagraising in the morning?
- how would it be possible to make fun about a flag without only designing another flag still not funny?
- would it be funny to design and sell flags, with a "burning- design" already printed on?
-how would a flag look like that is making fun about football and the world cup? without looking like a commercial-flag for football and world cup?
-how could a funny self-ironic german flag look like?
this is my try:
there must be some way to make fun of it. tucholsky tried as well:
"Jeder Mensch hat eine Leber, eine Milz, eine Lunge und eine Fahne; sämtliche vier Organe sind lebenswichtig. Es soll Menschen ohne Leber, ohne Milz und mit halber Lunge geben; Menschen ohne Fahne gibt es nicht."
