fighting the entropy
entropy is everywhere but most and for all and will ever be in the library i am working in. today i spent 2 full hours sorting books and shifting them, struggling to inform this oh so fragile order. and while i was doing this, students already took books from the shelves i have been ordering a minute ago and mixing up everything again. guess it is an experience that can be traced back to sisyphus, the old greek stone shifter. so this is the burden of the librarian - to be there for the people and serve them the books they want in perfect order, keep and maintain this order for them, which they are needing but at the same time, destroying permanently.
because like a file that cannot be addressed anymore is a lost file, a book on the wrong shelf is a lost one two. (unless somebody puts it on its native shelve again)
