montserat

mont1
finaly i escaped the city for one day. no traffic, just some tourists, no noise and hurry. went to montserat to climb a bit with some friends.
can't describe the landscape, towers of stone resembling the ones in the saxionian "elbsandsteingebirge", bright as the limestone in "dolormiten". in the background you see the pyrenees with snow already on their tops and at the same time feel the sun on your back and on the stone you are climbing.
a famous monastery is there too and a few others that atract the tourists. you can of course climb there too.

the stone is strange. its some kind of conglomerate and consists out of limestone, sandstone, porphyre and various othere types of stone that are bound together in something that looks and feels like concrete. when climbing, you always get the feeling that those stones will break out of the wall but they are quite solid. strange strucktures though.
it seems to be easy, is good secured, is not at all sloppy but consists out of sloppers so it counsumes a lot of strengths. i found it quite hard but the landscape is breathtaking and it gives you reason to practice...

hiperiment

hypermedia
hiperiment - le hipertexto en el juego" means something like hypertext in plays...

it is an exibition in the cccb. what you see there is a colection of all kind of "hypertextual media", ancient like tarot and an encyclopedia or modern like websites and interactive programs (well most programms are interactive).
you see documentations and including a film by douglas adams.

aranged in an artfully manner you read sentences of e.g. landow, barthes or deleuze, more or less expressing ideas conserning hypertex and related things. i somehow have to admit, it fellt kinda cozy wandering between the cites of one of my late esays for uni. :)

the extractes are either printed on black mirrors, are written on the floor and on the walls, some are projected on glass-screens hung in the air. that makes the visitor beeing sourounded by words and images.
some of those screens can be used interactively which gives you a slight experience of matrix-like interfaces. kewl.
and then a kind of antology about mods, cyberspace, bloggs...and so on displayed on one of these glass-tiles on the air. (but all in catalan and spanish, well some in english too, luckily)

examples of some hypertextual works shown there apart from other stuff:

the book of endings
Lexia To Perplexia
the body
Hegirascope

favouite pic on the streets of bcn

istn's she cute? maybe the doughter of the girl in kill bill?i just have to show you the stancil that i like most in barcelona so far. (added some more to the galery though)

climbing

yeah i've been finaly climbing in barcelona. it was on sunday but since i didn't climed for about 3 months i could hardly move my fingers after that so i couldn't write earlier.
the site is just perfect for being right in the middle of a big city. it is somewhere behind the museu nacional d'art de catalunya on montejuĩc. if you should ever be in barcelona and don't know where to climb or find a partner take the metro to placa españa and stroll behind the mountain. behind the olympic stadion and stuff like that you will find a tunnel full of grips and climbing gear additionaly to some walls next to the tunnel, some artificial made out of concrete, some natural.
the routes vary from 4b (but if you are not a child they look a bit strange at you) till 8c. i didn't dare looking for higher levels for me it was quite hard and i always gave up on a 5b. but there is lots of stuff to improve and lots of boulder oportunities in that tunnel.
great! and it doesn't matter if its raining and it won't be to cold here. i'm just waiting that my bones stop aching and than i'm going back there right away.

where do they sell the babalfish?

these are some of the things i am wondering about lately:
  • why is ice cream so expensive over here? there has to be an ice-cream-mafia?
  • why do i always stay at parties till 6 in the morning even though a night-bus is running an the metro as well since on hour? which directly leads to the next question:
  • why do they have so bad music in almost every pub here and why does it have to be that loud?
  • why am i always so tired?
  • why are the best events happen to be when you are tired and just want to sleep?
  • why am i too lazy to learn my vocabularies and hate it that i don't know them when i need them?
  • why do the people in the metro never let the people leave first bevore they get in?
  • why do i always get lost in barry-gothic on my way to the uni when i'm allready late but find my way perfectly well when i'm in time?
  • why do the streets in barry-gothic stink of piss while they get flooded with water every night by the barcelonetta people (the dustmen-company)?
  • where do they sell the babelfish?
  • why is the cinema-part of the very good website salir en barcelona broken?
  • where do they sell the babelfish?
  • why do the good things only happen when you don't expect them to happen or just stopp caring about?

(if your interested in short films and other art, experimental and mostly confusingly technicly have a look at
backup-weimar.de
and
if you're there once check out the lounchlab...)

but in the meantime i found some more pictures on the walls of barcelona.

something about the zoorum-stancil: it is a protest against the forum which was here for about 4 months and closed its doors 1 week ago. more infos at:
