getting trivial again

Yesterday night, after having watched two movies and done some more internet-surfing, i was finally trying to sleep when I became aware of a noise originated by my flatmate next door. No, it was not that he had any female visitors or was watching some indecent movies. He just slept. And while probably dreaming of daisies and puppies he demonstrated to me the probable origin of the expression of someone being sound asleep - he snored that loud that i was wondering how he managed to sleep himself. Given that his room was separated from mine with a wall, that wasn't even able to silence the sounds very much, i thought it must be quieter down in the rain forest where they chop all this wood using chainsaws, than in his room.
I started distracting myself through listening for noises coming from the outside, like car engines, people passing by or the wind. When this didn't have the desired effort of me falling asleep, I tried to sense a rhythm in the snoring to which I could synchronize my thoughts to. I don't know how this ended up because I must have fallen asleep some time later.
But one thing i remember was that my last thoughts were about my experiences concerning sleeping men.
I always thought my father was quiet a loud sleeper or that the subtle and unfrequented, somehow friendly snores of my boyfriend could steel my sleep. But this is nothing in comparison to my flatmate and some other friend whose sleeping-sounds seem to have a certain fame in Weimar already. Blessed from the coma like sleep that only a very drunken person can have, I never noticed his snoring while others complained and refused to share hotel-rooms or tents with him. I don't know if he ever had a problem on camping sites but maybe his passion for Scandinavia is partly encouraged by the fact that one can sleep in the wild without disturbing people near because there are none. Some bear or wild animal would probably run away awaking from the sounds, but that are of course only wild speculations.
Maybe this friend of mine and my flatmate should once sleep in a room together for a while to test out who would be lasting longer. Are there championships for snoring? And what are the categories? Volume, bass line and endurance? They both would be far ahead. I promise.

zzzzz

in fact, i cannot see the point why snorring people are rudely discriminated as above by ms.catalugar. she makes fun of a serious problem and thus proves total heartlessnes for any of those poor people. once sleeping, as was smelling or other utterances, which nowadays are culturally judged as annoying or even inhumane were the expression of pure and dynamic life. people were considered seriously sick if they did not fart or burp regularly, snorring was kind of the king's discipline among others. but as we now can observe, our culture has taken a sad decline towards ignorance, intolerance and decoy, which is really deplorable. all you fighters of the noisy nights! keep on snorring!
